The
Textile and Textile Products are one of the most important industries
in the Indonesian economy. Other than being the biggest income
provider in almost one and a half decade, this industry has
been some kind of a social safety-net especially in the number
of manpower absorbed, which is 1.2 million every year.
The
uncertain phenomenon of market access nowadays, starts from
the fast-changing demand to the unpredictable behaviour of customers.
While the market demands more competitive price, high quality
and on time delivery with shorter lead-time. Added with tighter
and harsher competition that resulted in creating competitive
price. The competition happens not only between developing countries
but also with advanced countries and new industrialist countries.
This situation is ensured to sustain as an impact of the development
and the changing of world trade order into the point of its
equilibrium.
For
Indonesian manufacturing industry, Textile and Textile Products
included, the drastically changed of world trade order, coloured
with the uncertainty and the in-conducive climate of business
in Indonesia, is the fact of life. One possible solution for
this is by enhancing the more solid and competitive power of
products while considering the domestic potencies.
Enhancing
this competitive power must be done simultaneously and collectively,
starts from the production process until the distribution, and
will be conducted much easier if applying the concept of integrated
industrial estate.
The
trade inside the industrial estate is proven more effective
and efficient because financially there is no additional cost,
and it is conducted dynamically among business doers which are
supporting and coordinating with each others. Besides, the process
is conducted by many experts & specialist in each field
of production process, which resulted in increasing the acceleration
of productivity and performance of each company.
In
following up last year's event, the Indonesian Textile Association
(API) will hold the “Indonesian Textile & Apparel
Fair 2008 (ITAF) on November 26 - 29, 2008 at the Semanggi Expo,
Jakarta. ITAF 2008 is designed to facilitate business meetings
among entrepreneurs in Textile and Textile Product sector, from
machinery and spare parts manufactures, to dyestuff and auxiliaries,
fibre, yarn, fabrics, garment, accessories and other related
industries.
With
the support from many related institution, ITAF 2008 is expected
to fulfil the need and demand of this sector, from the supplies
to the market. ITAF 2008 is believed to re-strengthen Indonesia's
position as one of textile and apparel business centre in Asia.
